    Who, seeming weak, is Lord of everything?
    No Tarshish hold
    of  Ophir gold
    Could ever please, for all its glittering. 
  2. What worship can we offer to Our Lord
    Who gave Himself as the Incarnate Word?
    No reverence
    Of frankincense
    Could ever praise, for all its sweet accord. 
  3. What sorrow can we offer for this cor'se
    Who gave Himself for us without remorse?
    No bitterness
    Of Myrrh's caress
    Could ever mourn, for all its sad resource.
