Easter Day 1
A single point of light sears through the chaos
As if the Temple's veil were rent with flame;
Our Genesis, the sea of Exodus
All brought within the Resurrection's frame:
The hart, newly baptised, exults at last,
The Easter Alleluias begin;
The tomb is shattered and with one great blast
Our saviour breaks the tyranny of sin.
Teach us, like flowers, to turn towards Your light
And drink the cleansing water of Your gaze
That we may live more worthy in Your sight,
Illumined on the darkest of our days:
And may we with our Resurrected Lord,
With joyful courage testify through Grace
The empty tomb and its boundless reward,
Beyond the earthly sense of time and space.
