Advent And Christmas
- The roaring pressure of the world
Invades our inner space,
The greedy bedlam of the till
Reaches our quiet place:
In Advent when we need to wait
Most think that it is here
And as we walk to Bethlehem
Mangers are everywhere. - At this great time of Penitence
We need more room to pray
And though we need to think and fast
We rush and feast each day:
The headlong dash for fellowship
Denies an empty place;
But in preparing for God's Son
We need more time and space.
