This Infant Glory
My body bore him God and man
As promised since the world began,
Like Eden heaven and earth doth span
This infant glory.
An angel told me of my worth
To bring about this happy birth
And change mankind throughout the earth
This infant glory.
Then fled before King Herod's press
Leaving such mothers in distress
Pray God in heaven he gave redress
This infant glory.
Yet as he plays with naive art
Making us both to stare and start
I wait the sword to pierce my heart
This infant glory.
