Weather
So beautiful yet cruel the snow,
So fierce the wind, so sharp its blades,
The evening sky, leaden and low,
Unseasonably the daylight fades.
A star shines in the gin clear sky,
The wind has ceased, the night is still,
Notes of a debut lullaby
Steal through the streets and up the hill.
The branches drip, the boughs spring straight,
Welcome the damp, bedraggled thaw!
The road emerges, camel light,
The donkey's footing now secure.
