Look Kindly
1. Look kindly on these torn, bedraggled hills
For they have witnessed Heaven's mystery
Of angels singing of peace and goodwill,
A golden thread running through history.
2. Look kindly on this dank, infested cave
For it has housed the child of Heaven's grace;
No matter it reminds you of a grave,
For such will never be His resting place.
3. Look kindly on the tree that barely grows;
For it will be the tree of all our trees;
For it will bear the sum of all our woes
And yet the sum of all our victories.
