Science
Through the bright mayhem of desire
And the cacophony of will
A child's cry probes an awesome sky,
And, for a moment, all is still.
Through shallow fact and deep mistrust
Of anything man cannot prove,
A choir of angels stills the rage
Of self regard and sings of love.
And through the glitter of the age
Where light dispels a lurking fear,
A smoking lantern in a cave
Announces Jesus Christ is here.
As God's desire we are too grand
To be reduced to simple proof,
The mystery of why we are
Brings us much closer to the truth:
Science cannot prove but should discuss
God clothed in human flesh for us.
