Eucharistic Meditations
Five
- Eucharist sublime that has no equal
Of brutal pain with such a joyous sequel:
No sum could buy the solace we inherit
Less than God's sanction of His Own Son's merit. - This comradeship of equal love is rendered
To all who hear The Word as it is tendered:
Hands scarred with toil stand out in elevation
In sacrifice indifferent to station. - Unique memorial of Christ's noble passion
Transcending tracts and intellectual fashion:
For there is nothing if this bread and wine
Are not in Consecration made divine.
