Eucharistic Meditations
Forty One
- Robed in the simple guise of bread and wine
My Saviour beckons unreserved to me,
His very Self who died upon the Cross
Is coming to my heart from Calvary. - At times a shepherd, then a perfect lamb,
Sometimes a servant then the Great High Priest,
Our brother who unquestionably presides,
He is the food and giver of The Feast. - The ultimate in warring joy and pain
Where victory is grained with sacrifice,
Our food and drink along the troubled road,
Through earthly wilderness to Paradise.
